Porcelain Vase in 'Retro Matte Green Glaze'

This vase has a hand applied ‘slip’ (liquid clay) application to the wet surface of the pot to give it a sculptural appearance. It was then slow dried, to prevent cracking, and placed into a bisque firing of 1850 degrees F. After the initial firing it was hand dipped into liquid glaze and placed into a final firing of 2350 degrees F in a gas fired kiln. It is deliberately weighted at the bottom to prevent tipping when used for large bouquets.
